Challenge: General Transport Equipment required a full replacement of their main entry double swing gates, pedestrian gate, and infill panel. The existing gates had suffered damage and misalignment over time, affecting both functionality and appearance.

The key challenges included:

  • Maintaining the site’s established look while upgrading the structure
  • Ensuring precise post alignment for smooth operation
  • Preparing the new installation for future automation upgrades

Solution

AGM Automation delivered a comprehensive gate replacement and installation, maintaining visual consistency while enhancing durability and precision.

The scope of works included:

  • Site measurements completed prior to fabrication.
  • Removal and disposal of damaged and misaligned existing gates and infill panels.
  • Repair and straightening of existing posts and panels where feasible.
  • Fabrication of new steel double swing gates and PA gate as like-for-like replacements.
  • Installation of greasable hinges to future-proof the gates for automation.
  • Use of Hiab truck for safe handling and transport.
  • Powder coating completed by preferred supplier; components dropped to coaters on 25/09/2025.
  • Procurement of 65x65 black post with base plate from Aussie Fencing.
  • Final installation and alignment of gates, reusing existing automation where suitable.

Project Timeline

  • 18/08/2025 – Initial site discussion and scheduling confirmed.
  • 28/08/2025 – Site measurement completed.
  • 01/09/2025 – Deposit paid – project confirmed for production.
  • 08/09/2025 – Gates sent to production.
  • 25/09/2025 – Gates and posts dropped to powder coaters.
  • 08/10/2025 – Gates collected and installation commenced
